Why Kickstarter?

Why we need you for Kickstarter!

About 1.5 years ago the idea of Infinite Realms was growing in our heads. We were driven by constant dissatisfaction with existing solutions for RPG tabletop battle maps. We didn’t have a name for our software or a business model yet, but we had a lot of ideas and visions.

We knew pretty quickly what effects we wanted in our maps, what we liked in other maps and what we didn’t like at all and what we were missing. The first few weeks we just sat together and wove pipe dreams. A lot of things were discarded again, a lot of things were firmly incorporated into the program and we considered what was technically practicable and what was not. From the beginning, we sat and worked together on weekends and in our free time. This is still the case today, when the realization of our project has taken concrete shape.

After the idea took concrete shape we started programming the software, mostly after work from our 9 to 5 job, until late in the evening. While other people were watching TV, playing sports or meeting friends, we were researching, designing battle maps and building the website. For weeks and months, our project took up our free time. This went so far that we hung up many other hobbies or at least cut back a lot. We did all this with pleasure, because we had a goal and a vision.

The whole founding team (Jan, Jessi, Danny and Nina) have a 9 to 5 job to earn a living and to cover the costs incurred in the early days. This includes assets for the design of the battle maps, costs for setting up the company, provision costs for the website and the store, tax advisor and notary fees, etc. These are all higher expenses than we had suspected at the beginning. After all, we don’t need materials or office space and our living expenses don’t have to be covered by Infinite Realms. In the meantime, however, our savings are quite plundered and we are still far from being able to cover the running costs with the income. Besides, we still have a lot of visions we want to realize.

That’s where Kickstarter comes in. Of course we want to continue, develop the software further and add more features.

To do that, we need money to cover the running costs and, if possible, to produce content faster through more manpower and to start a marketing campaign. Without the support made possible through Kickstarter, we would still continue, it would just all take a lot longer.

That’s where our backers come in, YOU! Through your support, no matter how small, you bring us a little closer to our goal.

We have already invested a lot of time and money and we are highly motivated to bring a great product to the market, which should solve many problems and simplify the job as a game master. With your support we can do it!

Thank you for your support!
